The owners of DZ Restaurants, David and Roslyn Zecchini, have announced the purchase of a 65 acre farm in Galway, NY which will be named DZ Farm. It joins the family of DZ Restaurants that includes Chianti Ristorante, Forno Bistro, and Boca Bistro in Saratoga Springs and Pasta Pane Rustic Italian Bistro in Clifton Park.
DZ Farm is located on picturesque open and treed land with stunning views of the surrounding rolling hills and woods. The property currently includes a 2000sqft house, a thriving koi pond, a horse barn, and walking and hiking trails that run adjacent to a natural beaver pond and then wind throughout the entirety of the acreage.
The Zecchini’s, who have consistently embraced and demonstrated a love and respect for food, plan to use DZ Farm as a way to build community through food and farming and as a place where agriculture, sustainability, and cuisine come together.
“DZ Farm will be a place to celebrate the seasons and to demonstrate our gratitude for what the earth yields.” said David Zecchini, “At DZ we have always rejoiced in what the land provides by cherishing the ingredients from the fields and the farm. Now, we will fill our plates and our hearts with the bounty of our own crops and the ever-present gift of family and friendship.”
The initial plan for DZ Farm is to cultivate and grow select vegetables and herbs that will supplement the produce and herbs used in the DZ Restaurant kitchens. Thereafter, DZ Farms will begin offering meaningful hands-on educational experiences for all through retreats, agricultural workshops, and culinary adventures.
DZ Farm will also serve as a venue that provides a serene and pastoral backdrop for larger outdoor events such as weddings and other special occasions.
