Volunteering means sugar cookies, a clean sweep & a swarm of bees

Giving back to the community is extremely important to everyone at DZ Restaurants. We take a day to get together, roll up our sleeves, and volunteer for a cause close to our hearts. During the month of April, the DZ Restaurants team was very busy lending a hand in and around the Saratoga community!

On April 16th, Chef Roslyn surprised a first grade class in Niskayuna with a special cookie making class. The children loved her and since it was Career Week they asked her a thousand questions about being a chef and she answered every single one. Lots of messy little hands and faces, but they all went home smiling as well as a little worked up from all the sugar!

As part of the 8th annual “Canal Clean Sweep,” on Saturday, April 20th, the DZ team helped clean up trails at the Vischer Ferry Preserve in Clifton Park, NY.  “The Canal Clean Sweep was a great way for DZ Restaurant to show our commitment to the Clifton Park community and our pride in the historic Canal System by pitching in with our neighbors.” Said DZ Restaurants Director of Marketing, Bill Gathen

Finally, on Monday, April 29th, the DZ team partnered with Rebuilding Together Saratoga County to help paint the garage of a house on Lake Avenue, in Saratoga Springs.  Michelle Larkin, Executive Director of Rebuilding together Saratoga County commented, “The DZ group was like a swarm of bees, coming in and getting the work done in short order!”  The homeowner, Linda Kahn, sent a message afterwards that read, “Dear Volunteers from DZ Restaurants, I am so grateful for everything you have done for me. Thank you, all you young people, for coming out today and doing such a beautiful job on my garage. It is greatly appreciated!”
